Harem King! Finale [Update]

That's it, Harem King! is finished! Bennett added his "Crown Jewel" Anne Miller to his harem and probably knocked her up. Most likely did. So, that leaves the question...

What's next? Well that's a good question. I'm not sure, really! I liked having Harem King to post, because it was something set in modern day with very light supernatural elements. Of course, the actual "Harem King Powers" took a backseat to the actual story and simply existed to kind of explain what was making these beautiful women go crazy for a dork in a shitty suit.

I think the series I'll replace Harem King with will definitely take place in modern day. Originally I was going to have "Concord" replace it, but I haven't quite fleshed that character, or her story, out very much. Plus, I want to have another male MC, as opposed to having all but Impulse be women.

I'm thinking something with werewolves and vampires in a dark and dreary, New York City inspired, city. The MC would be a werewolf, for sure, as I always find werewolves more masculine and vampires more feminine. There's of course going to be some female werewolves, like Aela from Skyrim, who have a tom-boyish personality. As well as male vampires that are more feminine. Of course, I still have a few weeks to figure out exactly what to do with that very bare bones premise.

I want to work on some of my more neglected stories as well as really get some One Shots done! High Priestess Cecilia will be my next chapter, but after that I want to work on Impulse, as well as Tbosk. For Tbosk, I'll need to do a full rewrite for her first chapter. Tbosk's Adventure was the first story I wrote (on the PenGuy profile) and I feel my style has changed just enough where her story doesn't quite sound like my writing and doesn't appeal to the people who read my stuff.

On top of that, the half a chapter I have written for Tbosk isn't really where I want to take her story anymore. So she'll be getting a rewrite! The plot of the first chapter will remain the same, but involve a little more world building and a better written sex scene. Then I'll take her story in a completely different direction than originally planned.

As for Cecilia, her story isn't that much longer. She has at least four more chapters before her story comes to a close. Alorna, on the other hand, has quite a bit more story left over.

What about your other, currently running stories? Well, I've gone over most of them already. Really, all that's left, is the Dark Fantasy series of stories. I don't think I'll introduce any new MCs to the mix anytime soon. Alorna, Cecilia, and Beatrix all play into the same overarching plotline going on right now. Once their's is done, I'll probably move onto three new MCs that have their own story within the same universe. I am, however, planning on doing a Dark Fantasy series called "Side Stories". Side Stories is exactly what it sounds like. Each chapter will focus on a different side character, giving them a chance to shine. Jessie from High Priestess Cecilia, Marnie from The Madame, and Aanlyn from Alorna the Dragon all have planned chapters. As well as a character that will be introduced in Cecilia's next chapter.

Cecilia's story, like I said, is coming to close fairly soon, It will hopefully end within the next two months, before 2019. In the next chapter she pays a visit to her childhood home in Braconnier before heading to meet with Arzad the Mad to collect the original third member of her imp trio. After that she'll be off to prepare for the fifth chapter, where she meets with Olroros the Wise. Julla, the scholar, will return to her master's astral plane to receive her punishments and in the final chapter Cecilia ends her story where it began. A meeting with Alorna the Dragon.

In Alorna's next chapter, she meets with the crime bosses (except for Beatrix) to discuss The Earl's replacement. I'm not quite sure where she'll head after this chapter, but she'll definitely find herself somewhere in Arme, one of the two kingdoms that hasn't been visited, as Alorna's first chapter takes place in Drogue.

Beatrix's chapter will be titled "Princess Training" and will focus on Beatrix retraining Princess Ava to better serve Alorna once she's returned to the Slaver's care. It features a French Maid costume, as well as Grimoire the Warlock, Magie's resident Crime Boss. Grimoire will be stopping by Beatrix's brothel for a simple hello, before heading off to Araignée to be in Alorna's fifth chapter.

One Shots! [Update]

I did it! I wrote a one shot! I told you I would didn't I? This first one takes place in the Bleach universe, during Ichigo's invasion of the Soul Society. It's the second day and Captain Kenpachi Zaraki has fallen in battle to the Ryoka. Now it's up to Captain Unohana to save him with the help of forbidden kido!

But Unohana wasn't on your list of possible one shot MC's! That's right, she wasn't! However, she's one of my favorite characters from Bleach, as well as an old crush. I came up with an interesting plotline for the story as soon as I saw a random picture of her on the Foundry. Meanwhile, I have no idea what to do with any of the other characters. Really the only idea I have for other one shots is for Harley Quinn, but every time I try to write it, I get bored. If I, as the writer, am bored just thinking of the story, how can I expect people to actually read it?

Do you plan on doing more in the Bleach universe? Absolutely! Bleach was the first anime I watched and it holds a special place in my heart. Not to mention the fact that characters like Kukaku Shiba (best girl), Tier Harribel, and Sui-Feng exist within the universe. Honestly, most of the women of Bleach are quite interesting!

I'd really like to write something with Kukaku next, but I run into the same problem I do with all of the other characters I'd like to write about. What the heck would the story be about!? Actually... I think I have a good idea for it, but I don't want to do two Bleach One Shots in a row. I'll probably try to do one for characters from at least two different franchises before posting one for Kukaku, or any of the other Bleach girls!

What makes a series popular?

Just like anyone else that creates something and puts it out for the world to see, I'm extremely interested in just how popular my work is. As my newest chapter is for "Harem King!" which doesn't belong to a larger world like my Dark Fantasy and Operation Impulse series', I thought I'd make this post about something a little different.

What I've done is taken a look at each of my chapters I've posted over the last 2 weeks and the attention they've managed to get. Using that information I'm going to try to answer the question any writer/artist/entertainer wants to know! What makes a series popular?

Relatability ~ First and foremost, I'd like to focus on the most obvious factor when it comes to writing. How well can the reader relate to the main character? When you're reading something, no matter what it is, it helps to be able to place yourself in the shoes of the main character. I feel this applies ten fold to smut. If the reader can't envision themself as one of the characters in the major scene of a smut story, it most likely won't give them the reaction intended.

Let's look at Harem King! for instance. This story follows Bennett. Bennett is depressed and feels trapped in his dead end job. The second paragraph of chapter one explains just how much he hates life and how he could possibly think selling his soul to the Devil for something as shallow as obtaining a harem would be a good idea.

"Bennett sat in his ill-fitting supermarket suit with his head in his hands. He was tired, despite sleeping through the night and most of Sunday afternoon. That didn't matter, he was exhausted. He was always exhausted. He hadn't even made very many calls that morning, but the few he had were nothing less than draining. No one was happy to hear Bennett's voice on the other end. Who liked getting called by a scammers? Nobody, that's who, and they made sure Bennett heard about it."

Depression and disliking one's job is about as common as breathing among the the main demographic that would be on the Foundry, reading my work. There's no doubt that the majority of users that frequent the site are young men that can relate heavily to Bennett. People like me who enjoy curvy older women just as much they enjoy mousy librarians. Who have had a crush on a fit girl at the gym as well as their less-than-kind boss. People who are willing to sell their soul just as Bennett has for what, if not less than, he received.

Now let's look at Alorna the Dragon. Alorna started out with a strong following, not nearly as strong as Harem King!, but strong nonetheless. This story follows a powerful, extra curvy, dark skinned Elven slaver that runs a strict scorched earth policy. Admittedly, much less relatable than Bennett. Alorna carries herself with an air of royalty and demands respect from any who even hear her name. This personality is hard to match for most people and Alorna's line of work is, without a doubt, one of the worst things someone can do in the real world. Even if she were the most likable character to ever exist, the fact that she's a slaver definitely deters a large chunk of people from even reading the story. So, while she had a strong start with her first two chapters, she's slowly, but surely being passed by the companion series, "High Priestess Cecilia". I doubt she'll even be the second most popular character in the Dark Fantasy line once the third series begins, because she simply isn't relatable.

So how is Cecilia more relatable than Alorna? Cecilia is a (half) Amazonian woman which towers over everyone. Not to mention she converses with demons in hopes of bringing forth a holy war and has three imp companions. Well that's simple. Cecilia doesn't take herself nearly as seriously as Alorna does. In her intro scene, she showed that not only does she carry the same presence as Alorna, but that she was still willing to have fun. She played tricks and butted heads with the always serious slaver. On top of that, out of all three of these MC's, Cecilia has the most of something just important as relatability. Appeal.

Appeal ~ Appeal is just as important as relatability because without it, there's no reason to read the story. Sure, Alorna is built like a goddess, just as Cecilia and Kay [from Harem King!] are, but her story focuses more on her business than her sex life. While the first and second chapters end with Alorna spending time with a bed mate, the bulk of each chapter focuses on a larger overarching plot. Meanwhile, Cecilia and Bennett have much much more sex driven stories.

Another thing that plays into appeal is just who they are as characters. Bennett's appeal lies in his story and the women he has within in his harem. Everyone can admit that they've, at one point in their life, wanted a harem filled with women of all different shapes and sizes. Meanwhile Cecilia is a priestess. Priestess' are basically the fantasy world's version of a nun and everyone likes nuns. The taboo of one doing certain things is definitely something that draws attention. Once that attention is pulled in enough for someone to actually click the story, they see that, no Cecilia isn't a nun, but the opposite, which is just as good. Not to mention the introduction of Jessie, Cecilia's new Jester sidekick. With the world's fascination of shoving as many dicks as they can into Harley Quinn, it's easy too see why adding a jester to the story would keep people interested.

Voice ~ Voice is something unique to each writer/artist/entertainer. It's all those little quirks added into your work that lets people know its yours. It's something that can be loud within a piece of work, or quite, but it needs to be there. Without it, your work loses a certain factor that keeps people's attention. It makes it seem like you're creating this thing because you feel you have to and not because you want to.

One of the reasons I think Harem King! caught on better than any of my other work, is because my voice is loud within it. A lot of the problems, a lot of the feelings, and a lot of the thoughts Bennett has came from my own life and because of that the story feels more real. When I read through the chapters, I can see myself in Bennett's troubles and I think other people can see themselves too.

Putting your voice into your work is important, no matter what it is. It's what sets your work apart from everyone else in the world. It's what makes your work yours.

The World of "Dark Fantasy" - Basic Map

A quick look at the actual map of the Dark Fantasy world.

So, where does that put Alorna and Cecilia? Good question! Alorna begins her story at a criminal's bazaar in Drogue. The Bazaar would be located where the e in Drogue is on the map. For chapter 2, she travels to the city of Glimmer. Now Glimmer is unique in that it doesn't rest in a single kingdom. Instead it sits on the border of Drogue, Rouge, and Ombre. It's the largest city outside of Araignée and a cultural mecha. In the third chapter, Alorna travels to Eastdrift in Ombre. Eastdrift is far south-east. It doesn't sit on the coast, but fairly close to it. Close enough that one could dig a tunnel from Eastdrift to a cave on the coast. Finally, in Chapter 4, Alorna will be making a quick stop in northeastern Rogue, before heading to Araignée's capitol. The capitol city rests on the small peninsula just above the A in Araignée.

Cecilia also begins at a criminal Bazaar, but hers is in Ombre, just South of Glimmer. After doing some business with Alorna, she heads further south to a remote cave, which rests just below the M in Ombre. In chapter two, Cecilia heads to the mountain tavern, "The Chubby Stag". The Chubby Stag sits just inside the borders of Araignée. The mountain itself divides Araignée, Drogue, and Ombre's territory. In Chapter three, Cecilia and her new assistant Jessie will meet up with the imp trio in Braconnier.

What To Expect, Going Forward [Update]

Ok! I've gotten through a full week, managed to post (semi) regularly, and feel really good about it! On Saturday night, around 9 o'clock at night, I posted my first chapter in over seven months. Since then I managed to post not only another chapter, but also began a new series I'm really excited to write. Plus, Harem King broke 10,000 views and 100 favorites.

How often do you plan on posting? Three times a week! I've tried posting once a day, as well as every other day, and I just find it creatively and emotionally draining. I feel like three times a week is my sweet spot and something I can keep up with, so long as I keep myself motivated to work.

I'm finding that making posts on this blog is helping me stay interested in writing these stories. I was a little worried at first, that having to write a chapter, as well as a post on here, would be too much, but I've managed to find fun things to make the blog posts about so far.

Do you have a set schedule? No. I'll be posting three times a week, on no days in particular. I'm trying to post early in the morning, at some time between 6AM and 9AM CST. I'll also be staggering Dark Fantasy posts. They'll be posted every other post, at the most, switching to a different series each time. So, since my last Dark Fantasy post was for Alorna, the next will be Cecilia. After that will come another Alorna, and finally I'll introduce the third Dark Fantasy MC, Madame Bordeuax.

Alternatively, Harem King's final two chapters won't be posted that close together. There will be at least two chapters from other stories in between Harem King chapter 7 and 8.

Any news on upcoming releases? Yes! The next chapter will be Dark Fantasy - High Priestess Cecilia Chapter 2. The chapter hasn't been named yet, but will take place immediately after chapter 1. It focuses on Cecilia meeting and beginning the training of her new assistant.

In Operation Impulse Chapter 2, Impulse pays a visit to a pair of Gnome scrappers that owe money to a private benefactor before meeting Shift. A friend of Snak and an engineer that will be taking a look at his ship.

In Dark Fantasy - Alorna the Dragon Chapter 4 Tara Antula, Alorna makes a stop in Rogue to drop off a package for Madame Bordeaux, as well as pick up one of her own. Afterwards, she heads to Araignée to meet with the resident Crime Boss, Tara Antula, to discuss the fall of The Earl, and put in a recommendation for his replacement.

As for one-shots, I haven't quite figured out a story line for any of the characters I'm interested in writing about just yet. However, I found a new character I want to write a one-shot about! Her name is Charlotte Amande, from One Piece. (No Spoilers) She's a hybrid between a human and a member of the "Snakeneck Tribe", as well as being Totoland's Minister of Nuts... so... I mean I kind of have to. Also she's an interesting character with a fantastic design!

Introducing Impulse

Impulse is a gun-slinging bounty hunter from the Ikrova System. He's not a good bounty hunter, but that's not important! What is important is that he's crash landed. Luckily, he didn't crash on some remote planet. Unluckily he crashed into the hangar of Terra, a massive space station filled to the brim with criminals. Now Impulse owes a whopping eight-thousand credits to the station and his face is plastered on a bounty board!

"Operation Impulse" is one of two sci-fi series I'm working on writing. The other one "Concord" [Working Title] was briefly mentioned in my first blog post "Updates, Updates, Updates!" and most likely won't be started until after Harem King is completed. Operation Impulse and Concord DO NOT take place in a shared world, as my "Dark Fantasy" series' do. This is important to know as Concord takes place in a traditional Sci-Fi universe, while Operation Impulse takes place in a Sci-Fi Fantasy universe.

What is Sci-Fi Fantasy? Sci-Fi Fantasy is a sci-fi universe that uses fantasy races, as opposed to alien races. Basically, it's a fantasy series that takes place in the future, rather than medieval times. While I'm not sure if this is a real genre, it's what I'll be calling "Operation Impulse" for... ever. For all time.

I'm excited to work more on Operation Impulse, because it's something new! My comfort zone is definitely within high fantasy settings, so giving a sci-fi/fantasy setting a shot is going to be a lot of fun! Despite not being traditional Sci-Fi, the series will 100% focus more on the Sci-Fi elements of the world. The Fantasy half of the series is more so I can easily describe characters without them all just being humans. I plan on having plenty of Orcs (my favorite fantasy race), Gnomes, Halflings, and Demons all throughout the series, among other races of course. There might even be a cyborg somewhere along the line. Who knows? (I know, there will be.)

Another reason I'm excited for it, is because there's a distinct lack of male MC's in my series'. Aside from Harem King, all of my main characters are women. Even most of the series' and one-shots I have planned have female leads. Speaking of One-Shots...

I thought you were gonna do some One-Shots. What the heck? I was and still will be! But, as I was trying to figure out where to start with them, I just couldn't find motivation to write one. I like long stories with lively worlds, so writing one-shots can be hard for me sometimes. I might re-write a Harley Quinn story I wrote and posted on an old (since deleted) Foundry account, but I'm a little worried people might not believe that it was me that wrote the original... so I probably won't do that.

If you check my "Favorite Pictures" tab on the Foundry, you can clearly see I was looking for inspiration on a story about April O'Neil and then Maddie Fenton. So there's that.

The World of "Dark Fantasy" [Part 1 ~ An Introduction]

"What is, Dark Fantasy?" I can see how it might be confusing when I simply say 'Dark Fantasy'. Dark Fantasy is the name of a series of stories I write that all take place in a shared world. They're set in a high fantasy world. A medieval setting with magic, fantasy races, and plenty of lore. The reason it's called Dark Fantasy is because the main characters aren't heroes. There's thousands upon thousands of stories set in a fantasy world, but most of those center around do-gooders. In the world of Dark Fantasy, evil reigns supreme and we follow the exploits of only the biggest and baddest of villains.

"You see, despite the fact that Alorna carried herself with the presence of a Queen, she wasn't royal. She wasn't Nobility, nor was she even a good person really. Alorna was a slaver and a notorious one at that. Because for every grandiose story you hear about a noble hero saving the kingdoms and thwarting evil, there's ten stories of evil prevailing. There's a hundred stories about the seedy underbelly of that fantastical world and the proceedings of it's residents and Alorna tended to have a large part in quite a number of those stories."
~Dark Fantasy - Alorna the Dragon [Chapter 1 - The Orc's Brides]

The world consists of a major continent divided into 7 Kingdoms. This continent stretches across most of the planet face with a large sea in the middle, as well as an ocean surrounding it. Throughout the ocean are small islands thriving with life. This includes ecosystems of animals as well as societies of tribal residents.

Each of the major Kingdoms is given a French name which, when translated, gives a little insight into the types of criminals that frequent its underground. However, I'm a firm believer that a rule can't be a rule without an exception. So only six of the kingdoms' names relate to their criminal nature, while the seventh (Araignée) refers to the Crime Boss that runs its underworld.
  • Araignée [Spider] sits in the center of the continent, surrounding the large sea. It's the largest of the Kingdoms and thrives on industry. Nearly all of the steam powered machines exist here, while the rest of the world relies on simple technologies.
  • Arme [Weapon] is a small Kingdom which sits on the border of Araignée. Its air and water is heavily polluted as they attempt to catch up to their neighbor in terms of technology.
  • Drogue [Drug] is a run down Kingdom, ravaged by the drug trade. It lays on the opposite side of Araignée and mostly consists of empty grasslands, their major towns built along the border.
  • Rouge [Red] is a lively, carefree Kingdom. Their cities are painted brightly and they provide much of the food to Araignée, Arme, and Drogue. Because of this, its residents are among the richest in the world and live comfortable, lavish lives.
  • Braconnier [Poacher] is a jungle Kingdom. This is where Amazons, Fae, and Elves originate from. Exotic beasts roam this place and technology has no place in its overgrown wilds.
  • Ombre [Shadow] is a coastal Kingdom, on the far Eastern portion of the continent. This is a place for Royals who hold no land. It's landscape is dotted by large castles overlooking villages. The Royals within these castles serve as mayors, collecting taxes and giving a cut to the Royals that Ombre belongs to.
  • Magie [Magic] is connected to the main land mass by a large bridge. This is the home of magi, isolated from the rest of the world. While those without a strong aptitude for mana are allowed in this Kingdom, they're urged to live elsewhere as it's an extremely dangerous place. Rather than being governed by Royals, Magie is run by a committee of Magi.
On top of having a King or Queen, each Kingdom has its very own Crime Boss. These seven run the seedy underworld from the shadows, collecting protection money, as well as doing their fair share of misdeeds. Each has their own specialty, as to not step on one another's toes.

Half a decade before "Alorna the Dragon - [CH.1] The Orc's Brides" takes place, an eighth position among the Bosses was created for Alorna herself. She'd gained a large reputation for being as ruthless as she was beautiful, as well as establishing strong relationships with most of the pre-existing Bosses. They eventually decided to grant her the title of Crime Boss. As a slaver, Alorna is always on the move and doesn't actually collect protection money from any of the Kingdoms. Instead, she serves as an impartial judge when problems arise between the Bosses.

Updates, Updates, Updates!

I'm not entirely sure who may be reading this, if anyone, but I figured it was about time I get serious about my smut writing! So, after posting a new chapter of Harem King, I've decided to make a full fledged blog!

"Who the heck are you?" So, I'm not entirely sure how blogspot works, but I assume there's some kind of function that lets people jump around the website, visiting random blogs! If you're one of those people, hello! I'm Leigh, better known as "PenGuy" and I write smut. It mostly takes place in fantasy/sci-fi settings. Stories about people doin' the sex. It's a fun hobby of mine and, if you're truly interested, you can check out my work over at a website called Hentai-Foundry! (Link Below)

"So, what can I expect to see on this blog?" Well that's a good question! This blog will basically be an easy way for me to communicate with my biggest fans. You know, the ones that enjoy my work so much that they're willing to actually check and read a blog. This will mostly serve as a place to update fans, as well as answer any questions they may have! Eventually I'd like to post a little more information on the world that the "Dark Fantasy" series of stories takes place in, but for now I need to work on writing more actual chapters for the characters already introduced, as well introduce some of the other main characters I'm interested in sharing the exploits of! I also like the idea of being able to interview fellow writers, artists, and even people who commission work from them, but if I ever end up doing that, it'd happen much further down the road. [If you're a smut writer, lewd artist, or depraved commissioner that's interested in being interviewed, please message me!]

"You just got off of a 6 month hiatus. How do I know you won't slip right back into it?" Well, you don't I guess! Writing these stories is a hobby of mine. I make no money off of it, or really even get anything out of it. I only do it because I enjoy it. Part of the reason I'm starting this blog is to stay interested in writing these stories for you guys. Because of the nature of what I'm doing, there's little to no interaction from fans. Really the only way you can know if people are enjoying what you're writing is from the favorites it receives as people very rarely comment on anything on the site. However, I've run a semi-successful blog for a little over a year and a half now and I find it much easier to update that with zero feedback than writing stories. So hopefully making posts on this blog and eventually having some fan interaction from it will help me write these stories more and more often for you guys!

"So I made it to the bottom, is there a prize?" How about a little information on what I'm working on next? After (finally) updating Harem King with its sixth chapter, it only has 2 more chapters left before the story is complete. Those chapters are called "The Crown Jewel" and "Long Live the King".

Aside from Harem King, I'm going to be working quite a bit on my "Dark Fantasy" universe. Alorna will be back soon to deal with a little feud between herself and a fellow crime boss of the seven kingdoms in "The Earl". Meanwhile, Cecilia has hers hands full as she begins to train her new assistant in the ways of being a priestess for demons. Not to mention introducing a new main character named Lady Bordeaux. Lady Bordeaux is the lowest ranking of the eight crime bosses and operates the going-ons of the "Red Light Districts" throughout the kingdoms. She works closely with Alorna, as closely as one can work with someone who's always on the move, and will have her debut cameo in Alorna's fourth chapter, followed by a full-fledged series of her very own. So stay tuned for 'Dark Fantasy - The Red Lady' [Working Title].

I'll also be working on a pair of Sci-Fi series, so that I don't flood my fans with the Dark Fantasy series. It follows Lieutenant Bambi of the intergalactic peace coalition known as Concord. She travels throughout the galaxies spreading peace by any means necessary.

As well as some simple One-Shots about various different characters. My one-shots will almost always feature a character from comics/cartoons/anime/manga instead of one of my own creation. Some of the one-shots I have in mind feature characters like Harley Quinn, April O'Neil, Daphne & Velma, and Maddie Fenton.

I'm not sure what my next post on here will be about, but I intend to make at least one post here per chapter/story I post on the Foundry! So stay tuned!
